backupTable.ksh

Creates a backup file from a MySQL database, and place in it the contents of a single table. The backup file will be a text file containing the SQL commands required to entirely recreate the table. Three files are generated from this script: the first is the backup file itself, the second is a capture of standard output, and the third is a capture of standard error.

Usage Statement
USAGE: backupTable.ksh <table> <dbName> <dbHost> <dbUser> <dbPass> [<dbPort>]

 where table is the name of the table to backup
       dbName is the database to load
       dbHost is the host the database is running on
       dbUser is the user to login as
       dbPass is the password to use
       dbPort is the optional database port (defaults to 3306)


Sample Invokation
# ksh backupTable.ksh myTable myDatabase localhost root myPass

# ksh backupTable.ksh myTable myDatabase localhost root myPass 3309
